Emeryville, California — Effective this month, Craig Stein has taken over as President of the Geo. M. Martin Company. Coming over from nearby Silicon Valley, Craig Stein has a 30+ year career, featuring intensive experience in business development, marketing, and complex management issues. Prior to joining Geo. Martin, he rose through the ranks of Nortel Networks Corporation. Following Ericsson’s acquisition of the company, he was first appointed to Executive Vice President and General Manager in charge of US Regions, and then he was promoted to Executive Vice President and General Manager for the company’s global web accounts.

“It would be easy to think, ‘What does a tech guy know about our industry?’” stated outgoing President Bob Morgan. “I’ve known Craig for several years, and I personally introduced him to our company because his executive experience mirrors our material handling business in many ways. Like us, Craig focused on both large worldwide corporations and small, independently owned operations. He’s managed teams working in over 220 countries—so he’s certainly no stranger to international business—yet he’s able to deal with the daily concerns of ‘Mom and Pop’ shops.”

In a brief statement Craig Stein was equally complimentary of outgoing President Bob Morgan, stating, “I’m proud to be filling Bob’s shoes, and I look forward to continuing to grow the company he helped make the industry’s dominant supplier of stackers and related equipment. In the 15 years Bob served as President, the Geo. M. Martin Company has grown over 300%. Bob’s management brought growth and fresh ideas year after year, so he will be an invaluable mentor and resource from his new position on our Board of Directors.”
